"You have a deal, Professor. First chance we have, I'll show you the entrance point." Smiling, Remus didn't say anything about dreams because whether he saw it or not, Regulus had just indulged in some daydreaming right then with their fantasy of moving the house to the school.
His smile softened as Regulus spoke, warmth filling him at the reminder of how much care his lover took with him. "Thank you," he said quietly in a tone that meant I love you more than the actual words spoken.
Regulus' hesitant touch was enough of an answer for Remus, though the words helped. Mirroring the caress, the backs of his knuckles brushing tenderly across Regulus' cheek, he kissed him even more tenderly than he touched him.
"I do understand and I would never ask you to give up your traditions for me, not when they're this important to you. I love you so much. I want at least a chance at a life with you so much...I don't know how we'd do it. I wish I did. But, I want to find a way to give you those traditions while we build a life together. I know it won't be easy. And, no, I don't know if it will even be possible." Remus bit his lip uncertainly, before taking a deep breath, screwing his Gryffindor courage to a sticking point, and continuing. "Do you think you could give me that much? Time. A chance to see if I can find a way to make you happy in every way? You said I came up with the perfect compromises. This one's a little bigger than most, it'll need some time and research. But, there are four brilliantly devious minds in this family already. If anyone can find a way, it would have to be us.
"If you can give me time." He smiled and ran his fingers through Regulus' hair gently. "Because if you can't, my next suggestion is going to be teaching your children about the time honoured tradition of extra-marital lovers -- and I'm actually quite serious about that."
