Remus considered Sirius' words in silence before speaking, thinking through perspectives. "Noblesse Oblige," he said finally, remembering the conversation he'd had with Regulus about that idea some weeks ago. "The nobility's responsibility to the people. You're too much of a free spirit to appreciate being forced into that role and he takes on the responsibility for you both. You will teach your children they're better than others because they're the children of Sirius Black and James Potter," Remus said with a laugh. "But you can also teach them to be proud of being a member of the Black family, of their pureblood heritage, without turning into mindless drones. To be proud, but to think for themselves and make their own decisions."
He smiled softly again, that same small upturning of lips seemingly reserved solely for mentions of Regulus' feelings for him. "I'm glad of that." And he wanted to go on making Regulus happy. Though he sighed as Sirius continued. "I know. I don't think it will either. But, it's the way he thinks. He'll put what he sees as his duty to his family over his own happiness. It's my job to show him he can have both -- as soon as I figure out how.
"We're still planning, although your husband was rather helpful in giving me some insight into one of the biggest issues -- legitimacy. I'd asked him about the legalities of those Muggle methods he talked of before. The legalities are grey, though he thinks that could change." Not that Remus would tell Sirius why or how. Sirius and James needed to talk about that themselves. "But, he made the suggestion of seeing if a magical means of the same could be created. Again, requiring time, though. Still, it's a place to start."
