"You mean other than the traditions that the oldest male carry on the family line and everything that goes along with that? I imagine you know all about that one at least." He shrugged. "I'm not sure which are most important to Regulus, but there is of course our training in the Dark Arts, the sort of conditioning we had about purebloods and the fact that we're better than everyone else - though I think I could certainly get behind at least that tradition being passed on to my children. Though that's more because they're my children, than the fact that they're purebloods."
"You do make him happy, Moony." Sirius told him, "I don't know that I've ever seen anyone make him happy before, not really, not the way you do." He didn't see a lot of his brother growing up - didn't see the way he was when he was in his common room or even after, but he felt pretty confident that he was right about that. "And I don't think getting married out of some sense of responsibility is going to make him happy, even if you manage to stay in his life."
