"Is it? Is it really," Alastor asked, irritably. "So we just change whatever because of what we feel without taking into consideration whether it's really what we want?"
He wasn't a rush into things headlong without thinking former Gryffindor. He had responsibilities he had to take into consideration.
"You're willing to make adjustments to your behaviour. What if I'm not willing to ask you to?
"And you'll stop having sex with anyone you fancy in the moment? Will you be standing on a desk to announce that to the division as well?"
Moving away from her, Alastor paced the length of the room before turning back to look at her again. "You want to know what Dumbledore wanted?" Normally he wouldn't say anything, but the two issues were too tangled up in his worries not to take it into consideration now. "He wanted to know if he died tomorrow would I be one of those he could have take over the Order, step in and fill his shoes as best we could, try to prevent everything from falling apart the way it did before.
"You can't even take orders from me as a friend. Could you take Orders from me if we were more than that? Because I told him I'd do it and you wouldn't have the option of another unit.
"So, yes, it has to be more than going with our gut for me. I have to take things like that into consideration."
