"Ah," Al sighed. "He probably deduced the pattern of inability to improve your job performance from your report and used his ethic code to support his decision of removing a previously-established hazard harmful to oneself or others during missions." His mouth thinned. "While I'm glad that he is unwilling to let you get killed doing a job you don't enjoy, being alive means you still have to eat and sleep in the meantime."
He smiled, having sorted out his thoughts about this particular matter.
"Doesn't matter. You live with me now and Dad can't fire you from that. This month's expenses are paid as part of your birthday present, and I am capable of covering the rent to give you sufficient time to settle your finances and start looking for an alternative source of income."
He nodded, looking up at Scor, with a brief smile. "Presents are supposed to be surprises."
