Marlene stared at him, watching him digest what she was saying. She wasn't sure what she had expected from him, but whatever it was, this wasn't it. She didn't expect declarations of love, or wedding proposal, or even a suggestion that they go steady like some fifteen year olds. She did expect something other than stoic logic, because it made her feel even more confused.
"That's all? We'll figure it out? God, you're so annoying," she said. "Tell me that I'm crazy. Tell me that even if I am, it doesn't matter because you don't feel the same, or you do. Merlin, am I the only one who must go crazy over a discussion you had with Derrick?" She growled. "Fine, tell me what you think about all of this."
