Marlene could tell that he was thinking the worse, but she wasn't thinking retaliation at the moment. She wanted to understand what was happening around her before getting her revenge - not that she would let this slide by.
She put her hands on his hips and smiled at him. "Don't worry, love. I don't plan on killing anyone, nor do I plan to get myself fired. I'll just straighten a few things with a few people. We won't have a problem at work, that much I can tell you, and if I have to stop flirting for a while, then that's what we'll do. The job comes first."
She went on her toes and kissed him. "We might have to do something about that rumour, though, otherwise you'll never get a real girlfriend," she added with a grin.
