Sirius didn't know what had snapped in him, whether it was the argument he'd had with Regulus, or what Peter had said, or that they'd stopped him. All he knew was that he couldn't do this, he couldn't be here, he needed to get out.
"I need to go." He purposefully avoided looking at anyone other than James, he just couldn't right then. He didn't want to see whatever it was that his friend thought of him in that moment, and he knew if he even glanced at Peter again he wouldn't stop himself a second time. He just needed James, he needed to remember to breathe, and to loosen his grip on his wand and get out of here.
