"But then, you always did love to play the martyred hero." It was muttered bitterly under his breath. "Let me guess how that conversation went. No one's told me, but I bet I have a pretty good idea." Peter knew this wasn't a good idea, but he wasn't going to stay silent with Sirius insulting him. Even if a part of him knew he deserved it.
"Oh Pete, you're so dumb no one would ever think we'd trust YOU with anything important," Peter said, mocking Sirius' voice. "You're just an afterthought anyway, and I'm so perfect and great we know Voldemort will go after me, so why don't you just take on ALL the danger and do this little favor. We'll forget about you anyway."
