Re: Sirius and Regulus
"I wish I could explain," he said, before smiling at Sirius. "I really mean that literally. I'm not even sure what happened. One moment we were fine, and then that invitation arrived. We started talking about the Potters, and-" He shook his head. "Things went insane. I got upset, he said he was going to leave, and there was no way I was going to ask him to stay, and then we stopped talking. After that, I started thinking that maybe it was easier this way. We... it's only going to end. We both know it, so why prolong the pain."
He ran his fingers through his hair, before leaning forward, elbows on his knees. "I don't know what I'm doing, Sirius. He wants to do this, and I said yes, but- It was horrible, and we've been together for weeks. What happens when we have to break up after months, years? How do I do that?"
He sighed. "We are different. You and I- we aren't so different. Remus and I are, though." He straightened up, resting against the back of their makeshift bench. "Of course, they are complicated. You wouldn't be sitting here, talking to me if things were like they used to be." Wednesday had proven that despite how things were now, they could change just as easily, and he could be alone.
