"I wasn't here as the head of the Aurors that day," he pointed out. "I was a father asking for help and advice."
He sighed, though he'd feel better if they could get to Lily before then. Stop her from killing before things went further. Now there was still a chance, but if she went on? What about after she stopped being confused and the memories settled? How long would the window of her insanity last?
"I don't have to play that role," he said. "I am the distraught parent trying to get to my daughter and grandchild. I'll keep talking to her, keep trying to get her to come and see me. I fear though, as the confusion fades and she gets used to the double memories that it will only be harder to reach her. I will try, but if we can find a way to get her before she kills again, stop her from doing more harm, I want to try it."
