Pads,
Things have become rather busy for me tonight. Extra essays to mark and things to prep over the next few days so I can get ahead of where I need to be before the Full.
Dinner tonight is not looking good. Perhaps we can reschedule for another night next week?
Moony
Remus sent the owl off to Sirius cancelling their plans for the evening. The day before he'd thought he needed to talk to his friend, get some advice on how to handle things with Regulus and the silence growing between them. He'd thought it the best idea in the world to talk to his lover's brother about how best to reach the man.
Then, this morning he'd started having doubts. Things were good between Regulus and Sirius, the brothers actually beginning to grow closer to each other. What right did Remus have to get in the way of that by asking Sirius to get in the middle of things? There was nothing fair about being put in between your brother and your best friend.
So, after thinking about it all day, he'd decided to call off their dinner plans. The only thing Remus could think about was Regulus' distance and he didn't want to talk about that.
And he did have a mountain of marking to do. He'd even brought it down to his quarters to finish, which he never did. Marking was done in his office. There was a clear line between where he did his work and where he could retreat from the world. Marking in his office. Translating ancient Welsh in his quarters.
Only he didn't want to work on the Taliesin. He'd locked it away in the lap desk and put that on a shelf. So, it was marking essays or training...or writing a letter to no one, of which he already had three tucked away in his desk drawer.
Marking it was. He'd assigned enough extra work to his students that week he could occupy himself with marking until well into the night and hope sleep came before dawn.
