He sighed, and closed his eyes as Scorpius' fingers played with his hair. "It's not obligation," he whispered fiercely. "I want you, and I want to be happy with you." He knew that it would never be like it was before, but maybe it could be better. He was tired, and he didn't know what was going to happen, but he wanted to try.
"I don't think either of us can offer any guarantees. All we can do is try to go forward, make things better. It might be a lot of work, but...but I think it's worth it? I think we're worth it." He leaned in and kissed Scorpius, pouring all of his sorrow and hope into the kiss.
He pulled back, worrying his already bruised and puffy lower lip. "Please, let's try again. I don't want to lose you." He shivered again, and realized that he'd left his jacket inside. No matter what happened, he'd have to go back in and get it. It had been a gift from his grandfather, and he didn't want to lose it.
