Voldemort had given his family more than enough to worry about, was more to the point, but she supposed that went without saying. "It's not your fault that the arse is jealous of you and wanted to bring you down to make himself feel better." Personally, she'd have liked to see him with a broken nose, it had to have been an improvement. "I know you won't." At least she knew he'd do his best to keep her safe. Maybe someday her Dad would see that too.
"It does, but that would seem to be a matter of protecting the castle by making it stronger." She mused, "though I suppose, the castle being stronger protects us more as well." Mentally, she apologized to the Headmaster for her earlier thoughts.
"You're welcome." This was most embarassing. A simple, if not very meaningful (because he didn't mean it like that endearment, shouldn't make her flush, but it did. "I can't imagine." And she'd observed enough of male behaviour to know he most likely wouldn't want to discuss it. "I meant the punishment though. How bad was Uncle Terry?"
