RP: Hugo, Alex Who: Hugo, Alex (Rose?) Where: Hogwarts, library When: 16 March, 2025 before dinner Rating/Warnings: Summary: Hugo has detention, Alex is studying
It had not been a good day. Couple of days really, but today had been worse than yesterday, which had been pretty fucking horrible. And now he was stuck in the library after his classes, serving the first in a series of detentions from Professor Boot. He thought he had to be the first person in Boot's history of teaching to have gotten a detention during Charms class.
Not that it had been his fault. Was he just supposed to sit there and let those fucking Slytherins call Lily a whore and make snide comments about just how she could best serve the Dark Lord? He hadn't even thought about before he'd leaped over his desk and had the Slytherin on the ground, his fist slamming into the other boy's nose with a satisfying crack. The others students had been in shock, and it had taken Professor Boot to split them up. In the end Slytherin had lost fifty house points, and the other student had been given a detention with Mr. Smith to scrub toilets. Hugo had lost two hundred House points and been given a week long detention. It didn't seem fair to him.
He was to be in the library when not at class, and would serve two hours of detention after classes. He was also suspended from Quidditch practice and the Defense League for two weeks, which was the hardest of all to swallow. He'd let his House and his team down, but he couldn't regret it. He couldn't let fucking Slytherins say things about Lily.
Which was why he was sitting at a corner table in the library, writing out the lines he'd been assigned--five thousand of them, to be done by hand and Boot would check for cheating--and ignoring everyone. His House was upset with him, they'd been in the lead for points and now were trailing all of the other houses. He was persona non grata in Gryffindor right now, so it was probably good he'd be spending all his free time in detention.
He heard someone sit across from him, and looked up. "Come to lecture me too?" He asked Alex, though it was without any bite. "Don't worry, next time I won't be stupid enough to take someone down in the middle of class."
