With new home, came an odd comfort of life's simplicity. No need for closets if all items of clothing were shrunk to a size of a leaf and placed between book pages until further use. No need for tables or seats if book stacks could serve as both, a writing desk and a chair.
There was still need for comfortable reading spots (and places to sleep, in that order of importance,) but at the moment, Al's preferred reading spot was suddenly occupied.
He strolled back to the couch, smiling down at the welcome sight. "You're in my reading seat," he informed Severus. "You may stay."
He sat down on the unoccupied edge of the couch and wiggled until he assessed the new seat as acceptably-comfortable.
