Isabelle had the day off, which was fine by her. Healing, she was coming to realize, was a lot of hard work. And some of it was sad, and some of it was disgusting, and some of it was kind of frightening. Some of the patients, too, were downright bitchy. It was understandable, she supposed - if she was in pain or on potions, she might be grouchy as well.
Fortunately, Isabelle did not have to deal with any of this yet. Not on her own. She was still closely shadowing one of the elder healers. So she was able to witness all of the uproars, to learn how to speak to the patients to calm them down, and all of the other ins and outs of healing.
Sighing, and trying to move her thoughts out of that particular groove, she looked around the Alley. The day was overcast, with occasional peeks of sun, which was a nice break from the rain. The rain she thought, was going to be the death of her. It hadn't rained this much at home, and she found it dreary and depressing.
Pausing outside the window of one of the robe shops, Isabelle peered inside. She didn't need new robes, per se, but some of them were very pretty. Contemplating them thoughtfully, she still kept half her attention on the rest of the Alley to do her best to dodge the foot-traffic that couldn't be bothered to dodge her.
