Snape thought fast. Dumbledore, Grindelwald and he had all already searched the premises thoroughly. He felt certain that this teenaged version of Riddle wasn't capable of setting traps or delayed curses that would have evaded detection by all three of them.
It wouldn't make tactical sense for Riddle or any of the other Death Eaters to return to the ruins, either. Not when they'd be crawling with Aurors, cleanup crews, Obliviators, for some time after the attack.
It was his considered assessment that the risk of further Death Eater activity at Garden Court was low.
He stood, drawing his wand and extending his free hand in the now-familiar offer of a sidealong. "I'll take you," he declared in tones that brooked no argument.
He'd further lower the risk by standing guard as Al searched for his pets and did whatever else he needed to do to come to terms with the loss of his home.
