"Thank you for seeing, Professor." Remus took the offered seat, wondering briefly if he was ever going to have another conversation with his former Professor that didn't revolve around doubts.
"I won't take up much of your time," he continued, getting straight to the point as he didn't want to be away from the school for too long when he was expected to be in his office and he hadn't taken the time to tell anyone he was leaving. "I had some concerns over your message yesterday, especially after all that was said on Saturday. I know I argued against letting Peter in the council. And it is going to take time for us to earn each other's trust back. But, I meant what I said about all of us having to earn his trust back, not just him earning ours.
"And I can't help wondering if taking Selwynn in will damage that. We talked about what happened in nineteen eighty, how Selwynn was able to get to him. I can't simply trust Peter out of hand, but I feel I at least owe it to him and the fresh start I promised him to speak for him and ask if this isn't going to blow up in our faces, if you'll pardon my bluntness."
