"Hm, kinky," Al mused. "Did anyone ever inform her that sadomasochism is only useful in moderation, as well as hair cutting." He peered at Scor critically. "Have you tried a Hair-thickening charm yet?" he asked Lori as well as Scor. "You might get a mop like mine but it'll definitely reach your eyes. For a couple hours at least."
Al grinned, stretching out at the foot of the bed. "Once they've learned that they would be turned away, the owls were quite reluctant to make unnecessary trips with the letters, but they liked the extra owl treats. Besides, it's for you, so they had to continue trying to deliver them."
Al nodded at the thank you voiced. "Thank you for returning into the owl-reachable range to read them," he replied, in a sombre tone. "I'm sure the birds are thankful as much as me, in a way. They were probably getting tired of hearing me talk about you to them, though not for a year, just for three weeks," he corrected Scor as his thoughts ran together and fast. "Um, I've got a therapist who practices Muggle techniques but doesn't perform lobotomies. But the rest is the same." He didn't say anything else, not about aunt Angelina, or Grandfather, or Lori's grandfather. The rest was all in his letters to Scor, peppered with newspaper clippings and quotation marks and properly formatted references to original source when quotations required it.
