Alastor huffed uncomfortably at the sentimentality. It had had to be done. His entire career and reputation had been built on knowing when to follow orders and when to bend the rules. He'd felt he earned at least one such irrationality and he'd used it then. "Of course it was wrong and improper."
And he'd do it again.
"I'll hold you to that."
Nodding as she explained, he went back to reviewing the division of labour. Essentially, it would mimic the old order of things, but within the Auror division itself. They were still short-handed. But, could be more efficient, more focused. It wasn't perfect. They were still trying to make the wizarding equivalents of MI5 into regular bobbies. But it was a start.
"It'll fly. Planning to show it to Potter?"
He chuckled. "Am I supposed to be upset that you find me to have high morals and to not be afraid of strong women?
