"You know that all of this isn't really instilling a lot of confidence in this division." However, it was making her worry about Alastor and Emmeline. She might not like the division, but she didn't want to leave them so exposed and overworked. Emmeline would fence for herself, but there was too much put on Alastor, and he would do it, because he was incapable to stop working.
"How are you dealing with Vaisey's death? Do they do shrink visits now?" Not that those helped. She had to do one after an undercover op had led to an Auror's death. She'd said the right things, she had been sent back to work, but she remembered the guilt and second guessing. The 'what ifs' were the ones that gave you nightmares when you were lucky enough to sleep.
Marlene picked at her food, thinking. "And if I find that things are so fucked up, do you think Potter will listen to possible changes? If I can spot problems and bring them up, will we have a problem? Because you know I don't keep my mouth shut, even if I'm stepping on your very worshipped toes."
She put the fork down and took a sip of her wine, and then sighed. "This is important to you. Do you really think that I can help you? If you do, then I'll go in two days, but we still need to deal with the issues of taking orders, because you're coming back, and it's naive to think that it will stay a non issue."
