He laughed, and tugged on her braid gently. "There's a barber in Hogsmeade, you could get a haircut instead of lunch with a boy." That sounded much safer than lunch with Hugo Weasley. Little wanker. He knew he should feel bad about thinking about a student, one who was bright and interesting in class, but this was Wren.
"Humph," he said, not believing it. Hugo was sixteen and a boy. If he didn't try to take advantage, something was wrong. He guessed he just had to let Wren make her own decisions, has hard as that was. And do a little bit of spying at the same time.
He pulled her close, and wanted to reassure her that she didn't need to toughen anything. Except it wasn't true, if she was going to survive this she would have ot be touch.
"Maybe it's time we started on those extra lessons," he said, already thinking of Charms he didn't teach in class to show her. They weren't illegal, they just didn't normally fall into the class curriculum. He'd have ot change that though, because he didn't want any of his kids ill prepared.
