Re: Marlene/Charlie
"People are crazy, but not all of them." Charlie knew well enough that there would always be people who had to buck the trends - and maybe he was just being drawn in by a beautiful face, but he couldn't see much wrong with the sort of world Marlene had described. "I would love to be an honorary citizen. I'll make sure to only suggest people who like kinks then." He chuckled, it was a silly game, but the teasing was good - it kept his mind from wandering places it shouldn't, when it would be all too easy to go to those places.
Charlie smiled. "Well no one can say you don't have an opinion about things." He shook his head, smiling. "You're right, though I think - for all the ways people can say we've changed, underneath it are so many of the old prejudices." All he had to do was look at the reaction James' marriage had caused to know that was true.
"I learned long ago, my dear, that it is never a good idea to assume anything about a woman, no matter how sure you might be." He smirked at her. "But I was speaking in more general terms."
