He grinned down at her. "No one thinks like you and Percy, Audrey. It's what I love about you. I only said that because I'm not known for thinking ahead, and I didn't want you to think something was wrong." He drew her away from the crowd and put up discrete but powerful privacy charms.
"The future," he replied, moving back a respective distance that was still within the boundaries of the charms. "I've made Heath's son my heir. I'm sure you saw the papers go through the Wizengamot. I should have done it a long time ago." He shook his head.
"Losing Gideon so soon after Cass reminded me that I needed to see to these things." He knew she was probably confused as to why he was bringing this up all of a sudden, when he'd avoided the idea of needing an heir for years. "It's unlikely I'd have an heir of my own, at least through traditional means because I'm in love with another man and have been since I was seventeen."
