"Thanks to you," He reminded her. Rolf wasn't entirely sure they would have made it out if Luna hadn't cast that spell - though after seeing his boys fight, he was hopeful they would have made it, he might not have been so lucky. But he had, they all had, and he was here and he'd keep his family together - keep them from falling apart.
When Rolf first met Luna, he'd thought she'd been fascinating - the dreamy look she always wore, the way she wasn't scared to be herself to see the world the way she wanted and not the way others deemed it to be. And as he got to know her, he saw more the woman beneath that dreamy exterior, to the emotions that lay beneath. And seeing the grief in her eyes now, it cut through all the other pain he felt and all he wanted was to comfort her.
"Love you." His voice was quiet, and he wished even more now that he was not in this bed, wanted to draw her into his arms and hold her. He let his free hand cover hers where it lay against his chest.
"Seen any of those grillywrums, yet?" He asked her - it was changing the subject and they both knew it. But they could either fall apart now, or keep themselves together, the way they had always done.
