Jacob stumbled again, they kept coming - if they weren't all blonde he might have thought he'd stumbled upon another Weasley family - there might be many of them, but it seemed they didn't know anything better than disorientating spells.
But it was enough, Jacob couldn't focus, couldn't get the family in his sights, though he sent off a few more hexes as best he could in the direction he thought the family was in now - he felt a few rebound off a shield, so at least that was the right direction.
He pulled off his mask, letting it fall as he regained his footing, just in time to see first one pair disapparate and then the second. "Fuck." He swore, a growl of rage ripping from his throat as he was just a moment too late with the spells that landed in the spot from where they'd just been. He picked up the mask, and set the house on fire before he moved back down to the village.
