Re: Attack on the Burrow
Molly stirred, sighing and reaching across the bed for Arthur, then coughed. The air was stuffy. Hot. Odd for this time of year. She pushed the quilt off a bit, but it didn't help.
She coughed again. "Move over, love. It's too hot..."
Arthur mumbled, moving, then coughing. He groaned, and Molly sat up, blinking blearily. It was so light! A bleary, smoky sort of light... Smoke? She slid off the edge of the bed and her eyes widened at the bright flicker from outside.
"Arthur." She reached for him, shaking his arm. "Arthur! The house. We've got to get out of here!" She gave him a shove and he woke, sitting up, coughing again, and Molly grabbed for her wand.
Arthur joined her in the doorway, and Molly ran down one flight of steps to push her way through Gideon's door. "Gideon! Wake up!" She reached to shake him awake as well. "We've got to get out of the house, there's a fire."
"Apparate to the treehouse," Arthur said, giving Molly a nudge, and she nodded, grasping her wand and pulling the edge of her nightgown over her mouth and nose. Focus...
She came to rest near the front door. "Arthur!" she screamed, and looked up as he came thundering down the stairs.
"You can't Apparate," Arthur gasped, reaching for her and for Gideon, then grabbing up the pretty flowered cloths off the coffee table. "Put these over your noses..." A wave of his wand sent a jet of water around the front door, and over the flames as he shoved it open.
The three of them emerged, coughing into the dooryard, Arthur's wand still sending jets of water back behind them to prevent sparks or flames from catching their clothing.
