"It actually is, Sirius. I'm not pretending that I want Peter on our side, but that's a very small part of it. I've seen you grow up; I've seen how happy you were at Hogwarts, how much you meant to each other. I do feel that it will help mend all of you to find that friendship again," he answered, softly.
"I also know that you don't need them as much as you used to, or even as much as Peter still does. You've found your way." He was utterly pleased with this turn of events. Sirius sounded more mature, thinking things through, a lot more than he had at thirty-five. "This is the happiest I've seen you. I wasn't sure about you and James. He's so young, and it scared me that you two would do something rush, but he's making you think, he's making you value life, and it's very good to see.
"The Marauders will never be what you were. James and Lily are so young, Remus has had to find his own way, you have your husband, and Peter is alone. You're not equals anymore, but you can still help each other." He stared at Sirius for a moment, deciding if he should bring Azkaban up, but that was Sirius' wound to mend, and maybe this could help. "You can't tell me that five years in Azkaban haven't left a mark. Understanding what happened might help you ease that mark."
