Harry sighed. "Just because you care, because you're too close, because you can't stay objective," he said. "But most of all because it creates a situation where Al does not have as much power in the relationship as you do. It's an imbalance. In a relationship you're equals - if it's healthy."
He looked at Severus, remembering the images he'd seen in his mind from his childhood. "How many healthy, good relationships have you been around?" he asked. "How many have you had?"
"Trust me on this one, if one person have power over the other in a relationship it will only lead to trouble. There is a reason why there is a rule against therapists ending up in relationships with their patients."
"I know someone, a friend of the family, and she wouldn't boast and she could care, but she's trained for that sort of thing. Of course in the end that is Al's decision, we can't make him go, only try and persuade him."
