Regulus had opened the door only after checking who it was, and stayed into the shadow to let James and Sirius in. He might have resorted to crude insults, but he didn't feel like joking at the moment. Instead, he took their brooms and set them on the side.

He nodded at the question. "We're fine." It wasn't technically true, but Remus' should be the one to tell him what was happening. "You should sit down." Especially Sirius, he wouldn't like this at all.
