RP: Ced and Hugo
Who: Cedric and Hugo
Where: Library
When: 11 February, 2025
Rating/Warnings:
Summary: Ced is studying, but not for long.

Cedric resisted the urge to slam his head into the table top as he flicked through his Transfiguration book. Schoolwork had always come easily to him, practically without trying he got good grades. Despite being a Hufflepuff. But when things inside the school were so mad, he really didn't have the focus to cram for his upcoming NEWTs. He wanted to be flying. Truth be told that's all he ever wanted to do. Fly and fly and fly. He'd decided long ago, that he'd been built for speed, which is why he'd picked Seeker as his position. That and the fact he was good at it. Slamming the book closed he pulled out a notepad and started scribbling. It was his diary if all truth be told, so he really hoped nobody would drop by unexpectedly.

For once, Hugo was ahead on his homework. Well, Transfiguration anyway. He wanted to do well for Professor Dumbledore, and studying was a good way to forget that Uncle Harry was dying, and Lily was missing. He hated to think what she must be going through, and knew that if she could she'd come home. Fucking wankers, he thought and closed the book, suddenly not feeling like studying anymore.

He wished he could just take his broom and go out for a fly, but it wasn't allowed at the moment. He could fly when he got home though, he thought. Start teaching Chudley Cannon how to sit on a broom. His dad wouldn't be home though, he'd been at the Ministry almost nonstop since Monday. Working, Hugo guessed, for lack of anything else to do.

He sighed, and thought about going back to the Great Hall until it was time to go home, when he saw a familiar figure sitting at a table, scribbling madly in a notebook. Grinning, he pushed his books into his bag, uncaring of crumples, and headed over.

"Hey," he said, grabbing a chair and turning it backwards to straddle it. "Whatcha doin'?"

As his thoughts were interrupted by a voice, Ced looked up, flicking the notebook closed with one hand. 'Hugo, hi. I was just writing my Diary and no, you can't read it.' I~f there was one thing he'd learned it was never to lie to a friend. That type of thing could set you on a very troublesome path. Just look at Jasper when he'd lied to everyone about Bryn. He'd almost lost Oliver that time.

Cedric had too few real friends to risk telling them untruths, which was why he was so honest. Of course, he knew that Hugo would probably be super curious about the Diary, but he trusted the boy not to try and read it. 'And what are you up to? Aside from bothering me.' He smiled, making sure Hugo knew that was a joke. He liked the company and he liked Hugo.

"A diary?" he asked, wrinkling his nose in disapproval. Diaries were for girls. But he couldn't call Cedric Diggory a girl. "What do you write about?" He tried to crane his neck to see, but Cedric was too quick. "Writing about me, eh? How much you fancy me?"

He moved his chair slightly closer, using the fact that two sixth year girls had joined the table and were giggling at them both. Really, he thought, girls were so obvious. It was why he liked Wren, she wasn't like other girls.

"Oh I was studying for the Defense League, but it gets boring reading by yourself. I like action far more than reading about things."
