"You just told me to open them," Allison muttered but she did what Jamie said, closing her eyes and humming under her breath to distract herself from he feeling of the wind catching in her air and the fact that she was still sitting on a sodding branch.
"Jamie," She didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around him and kiss him on the cheek. "You do what feels right, all right? I'm perfectly capable of telling you to go find something else to do when I want you to, okay? If it wasn't for you, Ben and Dylan playing with him, I'd probably be exhausted all of the time. If anything you probably do too much to help me out but I'm not complaining. He's four and he's a handful when he's awake."
She pulled back and smiled at him. "You know you should have just come to me when you first started getting cracks about it," She reached up to ruffle his hair. "I wouldn't lie to you. You know me better than that."
