Re: James/Neville
"Yes you were, on all counts." Not modest, but a brilliant student, Neville thought. "And you weren't afraid or to prim to get your hands dirty." Those were the worst students in his book.
"Well, at least you always know where you stand with him>" He'd enjoyed having Craig in class, enjoyed most of the students, and how their minds worked. "And tomorrow you'll have forgotten all about it." His eyes sought out Professor Black with no success. "I don't know him that well, to answer. At all, actually." Neville bit back the comment that Harry might beg to differ that Black had let him get the Snitch.
"Al, yes. I saw him a few weeks ago, at the Owlery, by the way. We had a good talk. It was nice to start to get to know him again, outside of school. He said he was spending a lot of time helping Professor Snape, so hopefully I'll see more of him as well."
Oh, now that made Neville happy, to see Jamie smile like that. "And seeing it all through his eyes? That must be amazing, especially to watch someone who never had a chance to take magic for granted having a whole new world opened to him."
"He's a lucky boy to have you around to show him it." Neville's tone was warm yet serious. After years of seeing how Jamie was with Al, he had no doubt Toby was in good hands.
