Summary: Al informs the Dungeons and Dragons players that the campaigns are cancelled until further notice
Scor, Lori, and Severus:
Thank you for your participation in an Arithmancy experiment. Unfortunately, I've decided to halt any further campaigns and proceed to the next stage of the experiment on shorter notice than planned. I provided Professor Pettigrew with my books and my notes on the subject for further analysis and experimentation. I hope he will be able to put them to use.
I'm sorry about the change of plans,
Al
Peter,
I must inform you that I'll have to conclude the interactive part of our experiment on short notice.
New obligations have been brought up to my attention, and any further use of me as an Arithmancy research partner will also result in additional unfavourable outcomes. One of such outcomes is me having to track and reveal certain aspects of life you might wish to view as private to sources that will not have your best interests at heart. I'd rather avoid the dilemma by alerting you and presenting you with my research this far.
Attached are the game manuals containing my Arithmancy notes. Perhaps with proper editing of someone far more advanced in the field, the ideas on these pages will someday hold potential strategic value to be applied to real life events, but if not, I do hope they'll at least inspire you to think of Arithmancy in new and creative ways.
In any case, please keep them for your use.
I'm sorry about the change of plans,
Al
Attached with the note to Peter are the three muggle Dungeons and Dragons game manuals Al was using for their campaigns, complete with the set of dice. Inside, the margins are filled with multiple notes consisting of few words and many numbers, numerical tables, and formulae.
Select areas of notes that might be of use to Peter in the future are...
1. In the Player's Handbook is an incomplete Arithmantical formula of converting publicly accessible knowledge about an average person, such as their height, weight, age, NEWT marks, approximated IQ, various experience, abilities, profession, and interests into numerical stats for further use. It is written down next to a copy of a sample character sheet replaced with Peter's Fighter standard D&D stats for STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA.
2. Scattered throughout the pages of the Monster Compendium are the various suggestions and ideas for real world applications of the person's numerical stats mentioned in the Player's Handbook, from assigning tasks and duties at the workplace, and calculating compatibility charts for a group of collaborators, to running a full-blown war campaign with infiltration techniques, battle strategies, optimal placement of resources and recommended timing of scheduling attacks.
3. In the Dungeon Master's Guide, on the empty page toward the end is Peter's name. Below Peter's first name is a short list of numbers and their notes majority of which would probably only make sense to Al alone.
Constants
fingers - 10 - harmony, unit, involution and evolution together, universe and human knowledge
meetings - 2 - submission, dualism, obedience.
"Love is a constant." Peter Pettigrew, January 25, 2025 - Unfortunately that constant is best approximated by zero approaching infinity, which makes it absolutely useless for Arithmantic calculations. A better numerical approximation must be determined...
