"There's nothing you can do for that sort of spell, Love." He reminded his daughter. "And it doesn't matter how many spells and hexes you know, when someone uses that spell against you - there is only one thing you can do and that is get out of the way." Though he didn't blame Wren, the same thought had been going through his mind since it had happened - that it could have so easily been his own daughter, and perhaps it was terrible of him to think it but he was glad it had been someone else's daughter.
"Thanks love." He nodded wrapping an arm around her and holding her close. "Alright, no cats." He privately agreed and glad that was one less thing they needed to worry about.
Talking about the last war was not something he wanted to share with Wren, she was scared enough as it was and telling her about some of the things they had endured would not help things. "I don't know, Love. I like to think that we're all smart enough to have learned from our mistakes the last time."
