Lily shook her head, clinging to Hugo, determined to not let go of him. Her mother would be busy, just like all the others, and there were more kids than just her to look after. The hall echoed with crying children and agitated voices, and Lily shook her head again.
"She's busy. Just. Stay, can you?" She burrowed against her cousin, struggling to slow her breathing, to stop the hitching, gasping sobs, and eventually it began to work.
