It was one thing to train with Snape. He didn't expect the man to play by the rules, any rules, but here it was different. The only reason Moody was still alive was that he had held back, but then he didn't think his father would be impressed if he had killed one of his best Aurors on first try, and now instead of conceding, Moody was attacking.
Pure hatred cursed through him as the heat from the fire closed in on him. He could block and waste time or stop the fire and risk for burns. He knew the option without even thinking. "Frigidus." The flames froze around him, before recasting the shield, making it complete, and then a simple shrinking charm, but it required precision, visualising the aorta like Snape had said, while casting the shrinking spell.
