"Maybe but in the long-run wouldn't it be better if he didn't have that memory? Who needs to see the people they love being killed?" Allison asked. "Especially when it can't be explained beyond there being somebody evil who wants to kill people James likes and their families. He won't understand that. He'll just be scared."
Allison frowned. Why she hadn't really want Joe to have gone off with somebody else, he'd still be alive if he had. Figures she'd finally get a decent man only to lose him. "A while. He proposed six months ago," she said. "Toby really took to him and Joe loved kids. It seemed perfect."
"I'm not leaving the house," she said automatically, not having to think about it. The idea of leaving Toby in the house- She just couldn't. "I... I can't, Dylan. I've only just got him back, I'm not going away from him even if it's just into the garden."
Allison chuckled although it was half-hearted. "Alcohol and four year olds don't mix. This is why I'm worried about staying here - You guys have never had a kid around to spoil your fun."
