RP: Al and Jamie
Who: Albus Potter and Jamie Potter
Where: Al's room at Garden Court
When: 3 a.m., January 19, 2025
Warnings:
Summary: Mysterious 3 a.m. thumping originates from Al's bedroom. Jamie investigates.
'Don't even think of trying anything higher,' Severus said to Al: 'it won't be fun when you fall.'
So, re-evaluating that statement in bed at 3 a.m. in the morning Al decided that he needed more experience. And by experience, he meant practice, thorough and solid routine of it in a safe and secure environment. An environment like his room with his door closed to noise and visitors. Not that any visitors would ever decide to fulfill their described function and visit at 3 a.m.
He closed his eyes and concentrated on his memory of the recent event that inspired Al's nighttime performance but then realised something else.
The bed might get quite a workout. He glanced down and made sure that Septimus wasn't under it.
Septimus wasn't.
Relieved, Al reclined back against his pillows, stretched out, relaxed his body, and focused once more in an optimal safe environment: without pointy objects in pockets, surrounded by pillows on the bed, while completely horizontal.
Severus would be proud of me, he told himself. Nothing can go wrong when I've eliminated all possible dangers.
Al closed his eyes and concentrated on the feeling of joy and freedom and feathers.
Fly! said Severus.
Al thought he rose up just a bit above the bed, or perhaps he just forced his body into an arch without it actually lifting. But it felt like flying, for just a second.
Thump. He fell back down.
Al released a frustrated sigh. This was much harder in horizontal position than standing up.
However, he tried again.
Thump. The headboard made solid contact with the wall.
Again. Longer, higher!
Thump!
I'm getting better at this, Al thought. I really am.
As prepared as he was, Silencing spells, were, unfortunately for Al, completely forgotten.
