"While I agree the younger students need exposure and experience," Remus threw in, "I think we have to also remember these are students. They are still getting instruction. Competition, however, should be left to the older students. Give the younger students incentive to do well so they can be on the teams when they reach the upper forms."
He bit his lip in thought, working through the parameters of Regulus' proposal, which spoke to the same mischievous streak as their earlier duelling demonstration idea. "I think it could be arranged in a manner that was not a free-for-all. It would be a monitored event, refereed by staff, and we would set the course for them. It wouldn't be much different from the obstacle courses and opponents I'm throwing them in class, except on a grander scale. And they already are expected to use whatever knowledge they can in Defence practicals, from all disciplines, so it would be easy for them to practice for tournaments in a controlled environment.
