Shrugging Cedric gave the reply he'd been given when he's asked a similar question. 'Its a traditional working farm, plus the horses enjoy the exercise.'
Hugo's reaction was brilliant. Ced had had the feeling that the Gryffindor was expecting something of a similar size to the unicorns at Hogwarts. Shires were by no means delicate. 'They're Shire horses, a type of heavy breed that are suited to working.'
'He certainly seems to.' Cedric smiled and walked over to Arthur. 'Which means this chap will have to come too.' Working around Hugo, Ced managed to tack up both horses fairly quickly -he did use a wand to do the saddles- and handed Merlin's reigns over to the younger boy.
'Just walk him out into the yard and then we'll get you on his back.'
