Scorpius had always known that Al was different. Most of the time he made no sense at all, even though they had known each other forever. Still, his logic was something that just made Al who he was. Scor just accepted it. He teased him from time to time but he would never do it to be hurtful. He had also defended him more times than he could count from those who said he was weird, even for a Ravenclaw.
"Sometimes I do," he admitted. "You don't have all these swings and you can think things through, look at them objectively. Take the curse. I was fighting all this hurt and fear, and just everything like there was a hundred pound weight on my chest, and I couldn't breath. You were just calm. That helped me, you know, just having you there."
"Even like this stupid marriage. You see it in terms of fact. I feel it like that slap, and I hate that I do. I'm with someone else, so this would be worse, but it still hurts. Don't feel bad for missing stuff like that," he continued with a light smile, reaching up to rub one of Al's shoulders.
