"I guess. That's the optimistic view or one could say that I was his brother and he knew that the repercussions would be strong, swift and not limited ti the school," he answered. "A slight to me would have been viewed as an insult to the family since I was the heir." He didn't know if his brother has seen it on a conscious level, but Sirius was too smart not to know it.
"Do you think it's what I want?" he snapped back. "I thought for the first time in too long I didn't have to take on Sirius' responsabilities, that now that there was no one left to spite, he would have done what was right. How in Salazar's balls was I supposed to know that he was going to marry a man and then turns around and tells me that he wants me happy and there's always adoption. For me, of course, not him, because that would mean that he has to grow the fuck up."
He shook his head. "I'm broody, don't you think I should be? I'm the one that once again is trusted with his responsibility and what I want becomes irrelevant. Whatever I might or might not have, with you or anyone else suddenly becomes a temporary secret until I do what I'm supposed to, so it's highly unlikely that I'll stop being upset any time soon."
