Remus blinked, not quite believing Regulus couldn't see what he might have said that would upset Remus. Had he not meant to say it? Or did he truly see nothing wrong with what he'd said? Perhaps it was simply Remus reading more into their friendship, with it's dynamic that was so very much more complicated than anything he'd tried to navigate before? And, walking across the snow-covered grounds to the main gate and the Aurors posted there was hardly the proper place to discuss any of this.
"You're...I...we..." He started to try and explain, but found he really couldn't get past any further than..."a bride?" Clearly it was something that meant more to Remus than it did to Regulus. He hadn't even been able to think of kissing the other man without feeling guilty until he'd made sure he wasn't married. "Just...forget it. Not something to be discussed outside in the snow. Or the Aurors really will think we've lost our minds."
