Regulus laughed. "I'm not sure anyone needs Sirius' influence, and especially a Gryffindor. All those natural tendencies toward reckless paired with Slytherin deviousness are really not a good thing." He rolled his eyes. "And sometimes the exception is very optimistic and assumes things that will never happen."
What was wrong with these Gryffindors? They assumed that you talked and it was over. He was sure that Sirius thought the same thing. "I might have forgiven him for not telling me, but the marriage will always bother me. No amount of talking is going to change that." He snorted. "Honestly, I don't think it would be enough, but this is impressive magic and the possibilities of its use are great, and as long as I'm connected to it, there's a chance to convince you to give me access. Strategic importance fair outweighs the need to prove a point with Sirius or Potter."
He shrugged, not knowing what had prompted the offer. "I'm sure he thought that it would help, although he missed the fact that it would have been a useless ceremony with no impact on the validity of his marriage. It's much easier not to oppose him and pray that he gets bored, although I know that's unlikely considering it's James Potter." He would still hope for it to happen though. "No, it's the attitude. He expects to be right and is truly upset when you're not smart enough to know it. After all, Sirius can't be wrong. He was too well bred to be wrong."
Regulus took his gloves out as they reached the stairs to reach the entry. "Good, because I don't want it, although you ask me about the Map, Sirius talks about playing with him. I'll have to remind you that I'm a Slytherin, I think."
