The owl had found Lorcan at work. Luckily, he'd been eating lunch on his own, and been able to destroy the message before any of his nosy Healer colleagues wanted to know what had him looking so shocked. As it was, when someone asked it was easy enough to blame that morning's surgery, which had nearly ended in a patient's death.
Jamie and Sirius had gotten married. He tried to get his head to wrap around that, and to forget the slight stab of hurt that had come with the little extra note from Jamie about secrecy. It wasn't as if he'd gone off telling the Prophet or anything about Jamie's idea of going after Voldemort, but it wasn't Jamie's fault he felt he couldn't trust Lorcan.
Luckily, there was another emergency, and the Healers on duty needed Lorcan to fetch and carry potions for him. It took the rest of his shift, and by the time he made it home, he'd almost forgotten about the letter. He took a long shower and had dinner with Sandy, talking about the weekend and the news about Jamie and Sirius. Sandy didn't seem to be taking it seriously, but Lori wasn't so sure.
After dinner, he and Sandy talked a bit more, and Lorcan was just considering going to bed early when there was a knock at the door. He went to answer, wondering who it should be, and his eyes widened as he opened to show Scorpius.
"Hey," he said, stepping back so the man could enter. The guards followed through, but once they'd made sure the flat was safe, Lori informed them that they would be waiting in the hall. They still made him nervous, but he wasn't going to let them make either him or Sandy uncomfortable.
Once that was done, he looked at Scorpius, and noticed he didn't look like himself. "Come on, let's go to my room and talk," he said, blushing as they passed Sandy. He knew his twin would have questions, but they could wait until later.
"What's wrong?" he asked, though he thought it might be about Jamie. He didn't want to be the first one to bring it up though, as he didn't want to break any secrets.
