It wasn't as though James couldn't relate to getting married young because you were in love and there was a war going on. That wasn't a totally unfamiliar concept to him. Though he and Lily had at least been dating for two years - and he'd been after her for several years before that. Hell, he'd been afraid she'd get away! And they'd wanted to start a family. None of that applied in Sirius and Jamie's case.
Or did it? Might they want to start a family together? To adopt? In a time of war there were always orphans needing care. But speaking of decisions that shouldn't be made hastily! Jamie and Sirius as parents? Why was he even thinking about that??
"Ours wasn't that big. My parents were gone, and Lily's sister refused to come... It was pretty much just us and a few friends from Hogwarts and the Order." He smiled to himself, reminiscing—and then Harry shattered that fond nostalgic haze.
James sat up straight in his chair. "Wait, what?" His eyes were sharp on Harry. "Go back, say that again. We're not legally married?"
