"He could learn spells to fix it, but he's too blind to see it," he pointed out.
"I know that, but you think it's your place or even mine to protect him and it's not," he said with a shrug. "I'm not going to do that to him. I'll talk to him but I won't stop him from doing what he has to, no matter how much I'd like otherwise."
He shook his head. "Not a Patronus. By the time you'd get it, we would have ended the conversation. It wasn't that long. We'd have to think of something else."
James snorted. "He might be powerful, but he'd like a fourth year missing mummy and trying to compensate. He scowled, you know like kids do when you reprimand him. That's how he acted. It was ridiculous. The words 'grow up' were on the tip of my tongue a few hundred times."
