Patrick couldn't help but smile. "I see my research has been going around. Do you want some coffee?" he asked, as he went to get a mug for himself. It was good that it was used to this kitchen already.
"It's not that simple. You can fuck around, if that's what you're asking, however there is a tendency to become monogamous. You won't form that bond with every person you see," he explained. "What causes the bond to form? I don't know. No one knows. I'm doing research, but it's at its preliminary stages. It could take... years to know everything. This is something we didn't even know until I started about two months ago."
He poured a second cup for her as well and then sat down. "It's not that simple. Yes, you will tend to be possessive and there is a good chance that you'd be jealous, but I don't know the extent of it. The symptoms aren't psychosomatic. From what I can tell, they are real and physical. Your body reacts to being away. It's worse if there's worry or stress, negative feelings."
He took a sip of the coffee and stared back. "As I said, I don't know why the bond forms with some people and not some, but any potential person you get involved with can turn into the one."
